Firm
Under the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants Act, 2015 (“the Act”), a “firm of public accountants” is a firm of accountants whereby each sole practitioner or proprietor, partner, or with respect to a body corporate, each equity owner engages in public practice.
The Act (S.9(1)(b)) requires that a register of the name of every firm of public accountants be maintained by BICA. A firm of public accountants should submit an application for registration of the firm to BICA.
To Apply for Registration as a Firm
- Submit the completed application form with:
- evidence of the academic and professional qualifications of the partners or shareholders;
- evidence of insurance coverage as required by the Regulations;
- any other information as the Council may from time to time require and
- payment of the Firm application fee (see Schedule of Fees).
